One Has To Fail, One Will Succeed

He tried to run
He tried to hide
What he was looking for he could not find

One has to fail
One will succeed
One will get the things he needs

The great may win
The great may loose
The great though great are not able to choose

The unknown may be known
Or they may not
The unknown may be remembered for what they sought

One has to fail
One will succeed
One will get the things he needs

What they do with it
 I do not know
But it will decide for all happiness or woe

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
