    One Short Year

    You re entered my life

    one short year ago

    and changed it forever

You are the reason I wake up smiling

and the reason for my laughter

    I may cry at times

    and ask why…

    why are we not together…

    why was fate so cruel

to let us find each other

    when we’re not free

    and I can’t hold you

    and touch you

    and love you

    anytime I need to…?

But I would not and will not

    ever regret finding you again

Because of all the joy you bring me

and the peace of knowing I am loved

    and have been

    for a long, long time.

    My friend, my love

I will be here for you

and you will be in my heart

    forever.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
