    One Voice

Two hearts have been reaching out
    Into the darkness to find
The voice that has been calling
In their soul and in their mind

The voice of their one true love
The one they can stand beside
And share their whole hearted love
Throughout the length of life's ride

While seeking the will of God
Each heart was given the strength
To cling to the voice of hope
And to walk despite the length

    And now together they stand
With a new outlook on life
Now ready to face the world
    Together husband and wife

How great is the grace of God
That two longing souls would see
In flesh the voice that they heard
From the day they came to be

And now with their souls entwined
They will strive as one to hear
The very voice of the one
    Who draws His creation near

Now it's time to get down to the poem. I noticed the first stanza has perfect timing, 7 syllable count. It shows you put forth some effort, rather than just writing off the top of your head (either that, or you should go to vegas and start playing the slot machines!). Boring poem, no excitement, just a revelation. The voice, what did it say again? Was it yelling, crying, or lying to you? This would make a great wedding speech (a compliment). But as for me, I'm single (and like it that way). If I told anyone I hear voices, they would be putting a ring on me too! But it would look more like handcuffs, than a wedding ring. I will write a Haiku response.

That's exactly what this poem was, so I'm glad that you noticed. I did write this poem for my wife on our wedding day. It was a revelation of the love that I we have for each other. Thank you for your comment.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
