realization
Empty bottles left laying on the tablecandle burning low
She lying in a drunkened stupor,
trying to drink away how she misses him so
There's a jukebox in the corner playin love songs
she's played his favorite one a thousand times
It's one more memory she's trying to hold onto
when lonely becomes more then just a state of mind.
she still carries the last letter he wrote her
the one where he's telling her goodbye
but it's hard for her to read between the tear-stains
but remembering what it said still makes her cry.
his wedding ring still hangs on her keychain
more then once she's tried throwing it away
but everytime she works up the nerve to do it
her heart begs , please hold on it one more day
in the house they used to share still hangs a picture
tho' years have caused parts of it to fade
she remembers the day that it was taken
and the vows and promises they made.
now the rooms only hold the memories
and silence only echos in the hall
so she leaves behind the past that she remembers
hanging there lifeless on the wall
she leaves the ring laying on the counter
along with his memory
with tears in her eyes she says i love you
but in her heart she knows this is how it has to be
she notices the for sale sign on the front lawn
now everything is finally said and done
she walks away not looking back just remembering
the love shwe use to call her own......
