THAT WAS BEFORE YOU.......

                At times i'm lost and confused
                 been broken-hearted and abused
                 burned a candle at both ends
                shed tears every now and then
               
               Cut  the darkness like a blade of steel
               believed in dreams, i thought were real
               reached for stars that just weren't there
               said goodbye without a care.
              
              but that was before you.
              
           i've washed a rainbow from the sky
           with a teardrop from my eye.
             whispered out old lovers names
             then watched as love went down in flames
            
            Cherished the old memories
            sacrificed my heart. to set one free
           convince myself love was never true
           but that was before you
         
           said farewell to yesterday
           touched a heart, but wouldn't stay
           made mistakes, paid the price
           ask forgiveness once or twice
            
          lost the heart, let made me whole 
          cursed myself for letting go
          living with the memory
          clinging to what used to be
