silence can kill the flame
i never saw this coming, that's why it's hard to believe.
one day you say you love me,
then you say you have to leave.
we spent afternoons on the front porch,
eating mint-chocolate chip icecream.
laughing at each others' joke,
trying to catch a lovers' dream.
we listen to the radio
and when you;d hear your favorite song.
i'd smile the slightest smile,
when you'd start to sing along
(chorus) but as season's change, and time goes on
few things ever stay the same
and as silence makes the teardrops fall,
goodbye can kill the flame
we spent our nights in total awe,
saying this just can't be true.
there's noone else on this earth,
that loves each other like we do.
then some how doubt filled the room,
jealousy reared it's ugly head.
i felt we were a million miles apart,
but still sleepin' in a single bed
the darkness hid the tears and sorrow
we seldom spoke a word.
the tenderness just seem to fade,
silence was all we ever heard.
and as the seasons changed and time moved on
things just never stay the same .
and as goodbye causes tears to fall
silence can kill the flame.........
