Remember

December came and went,
leaving something cold behind.
Stirring letters that were never sent.
Bringing old memories back to mind.

January is here for a while,
singing what ifs as lullaby.
Opening old wounds with a smile.
Not yet ready to say goodbye.

February will come on its own time,
showering truth upon the lies.
Reality and expectations do not rhyme.
Don't be surprised if the sky cries.

March will bring the warmth of summer,
making it easier to get out of bed.
Don't be afraid to say that it's over.
There are no more tears to shed.
