Sekunda
When we first met, remember
On the dusty street of Harlem
You were soaked in the smooth beauty,
Of the tropical sunset.
You looked into my eyes,
As the years wore out of their shells,
And wondered if truly I was real,
You swelled sweetly to my song.
If I could count the stars
In the blinking night sky,
And let your palm glide across my heart,
you would scream that "I love you"
If I could break into your quiet sadness,
As swift as a thief on a rainy night,
And uncode the swollen madness in your song,
You would scream that "I love you."
My love for you is sand grains
Spread across the shores of the seven seas,
More like water that sips through the mouth,
And brings new life to the body.
When will I see you again
My princess daughter of Mbungroofa,
When will I listen that laughter,
That spins my head with love madness. Ndzedzeni Fondzefe
