Self-Seeking

Self-Seeking

I know this may sound just a little bit conceited
But I’m above you, no I can’t be defeated
Put me on a pedestal cause I’m better than you
With my back to the world there’s so much more I can do
You wanna know what’s on my mind
Um, “I don’t care, Its all about me”
It may sound a bit self-seeking
Why should I be any other way “nobody cares about me”
Camouflaging my own well being
I’m tired of being another charity case
 Being cordial got me nowhere
The old me is vanished
Having the “I don’t care attitude”
has positioned me in a different place
Gave me a new face
 Running at a different pace
I dare not to look back
Put on a new act
 To front for your enjoyment
Making it but faking it
Call me cocky, call me rude
But this is what you get
I dont need no friends
Being boxed is where I fit

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
