Shadows

Close your eyes....

Listen.

Do you hear it?

The echoes of a long forgotten time.

They linger in my mind

like the scent of honeysuckle clinging to the vine.

Oh how sweet the scent!

Memories of a childhood long ago

filter through the ages

of my mind.

Shouts and cries of playful children

fill the shadows that envelope me.

I open my eyes and all is gone but a memory.

I enjoyed this piece. It was an easy read, yet a very enjoyable moment down memory lane, for me. Keep up the good work. Myrna Cox

Thank You.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
