Smile

A written smile and

They say a picture speaks a thousand words

The calming days of winter

My eyes are closed

The snow flakes gently falling

Like Angels, A Heavenly Peace

Words on a page

A story to tell

Of that particular place and time

Spoken to as a picture was painted

Captured intensely on canvas

An artist I’m not

The picture I painted was you

Painted by your text, Smile.

Inspired.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
