Waves along the shore come crashing.

    Crashing waves along the shore

Closed eyes listening to the perfect peace

A voice echoing in my mind

    Never wanting to let go

    Someone’s heart talking to mine

What should be made of this?

    Crashing waves along the shore

    Listening to the perfect peace

    Listening as if hearing

Written words spoken from a page

    Realizing the voice was mine

Closed eyes listening to the calming seas

    Crashing waves upon the shore

    Someone’s heart listening to mine

    Heart to heart

    Finding I’m no longer, alone

    Crashing waves along the shore

    Listening, hearing the word’s

    “I Love You”

    Listening to the calming seas

    Hand in hand

    Heart to heart

    Abandonment of all rational thought

    Listening to the voice

    In tears, hearing

    “I Love You Too”

isasal, A poignant and surreal experience. I like that the ocean waves are incorporated here. It gives this poem motion and sway. Splendid little love poem! ginga

"Abandonment of all rational thought" I love it! If only we could stay in that moment forever...

The quietness of the thundering waves can make one feel the love of one who is not there, but is, really....................................g

Precisely understood as written, a metaphor the sounds of crashing waves to convey a voice of a tranquil peace.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
