So I' am

    So I' am

    every mind is alike
    but mines is right
    so please don't mind me

    common sense
    has no sense
    when every sense
    has been lost
    at will

free will it's free of passion
    therefore in my mind passion
    has no limits

    as the sun burns
    and the world turns
    one learns
    to seek, speak, walk
    except yet to think

we are all from the same
    yet we act insane
we kill we steal we cheat
    only to for fill
    a certain desire
    a certain fire
    that was lit
    in our minds
    and buried into our souls

so are we evil by nature
    or destined for greater
    are we so easily intrigued
    by wrongs
    thousands of broken bones
    millions of homeless
    kids dying of hunger
    while the rich eat
    so six feet under
    we must reach
    in order to react
    no opinion just facts
    no money just drugs
    no love just hate
    no sympathy just curiosity
    not a family
    just an enemy
    friends for what
    cars for who
    time for when
    happiness where
    no where
    power for all
    justice for none
    father you are
    son i' am
    son i' am
    so I' am

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
