Stage
Her whole life
layed out on a stage so small
she can barely breathe.
The wealth of the audience
is shallow
and her heart skips a beat
She is asked to be brave
and face her deepest fear
and not alone,
she has the strength of all her peers
to stand by her
as she shakes with all her might
searching for the beast inside
slain by cowardice
ungrateful girl!
Your support beams all around
your silence begs for sound
yet you can barely stand your ground
The audience is infuriated
they yell to criticize
but they're the very people
she's afraid of being like
and everyone around
pushing
pulling
telling her just how to feel
in such a subtle voice
and she can't tell the difference between real.
She tries to make a decision
but at the same time has no choice
The rain comes pouring down
and she is in reality
on the street
with nothing to eat
deaf and blind and with no voice
and does it matter anyway?
When there is no one around
They all wait for her next appearance
she must follow to be found..
