The Beast
When I'm all alone,
that's when the beast arise,
I know that he's there with me,
though I can't see him with my eyes.
He arise from deep inside me,
like bile in my throat.
Pressing me to make a score,
I'm reaching for my coat.
When I reach the spot,
where the Devil stands his ground,
I give him all I've got,
but I don't hang around.
He always knows I'm coming.
I can't stay away for long.
I know that I should stop all this,
but I know I'm not that strong.
I'm aware that drugs are killing me.
I'm aware that it's just wrong.
I don't know what they expect from me,
don't they know I'm not that strong.
When I'm all alone
that's when the beast arise.
I know that he's there with me,
though I can't see him with my eyes.
I'm getting closer to the end,
I've lost so many friends.
In the morning I'll be sick again,
feel like I've got the bends.
I've just got to get off this ride.
I know it's all my fault.
There is nowhere that I can hide,
I know that I'll be caught.
The cops have been close on my trail.
They're watching my back door.
I won't have the bread to make my bail.
I just don't care anymore.
When I'm all alone,
that's when the beast arise.
I know that he's here with me,
though I can't see him with my eyes.
