The Man
Charles W. Paschal aka raykmond, aka Bullwhip

Life is so strange and in such a hurry,
I find I must run and work in a fury.
My parents taught me to be upright and just.
But to pay the bills have become such a bust.

It seems today, that boss gives a small raise at most.
It is hard to pay those bills that double and coast.
Seems gas has doubled, and food has raised too.
No wonder we are troubled, and don't know what to do.

I search my soul to do that which is right.
But I can't see the end of the tunnel in sight.
I work and I work, to no end I prevail
And see my life going strait into hell.

Is it my fault? Am I wrong to be mad?
No it can't be, so I have never been bad.
It is the sign of the times that make us work as slaves to the man.
It is time to lay down to our congress a demand.

Do what is right to the people this day.
For tomorrow you'll see, just to whom you must pay.
for the lord God willing, to him you must pay.
On the evening Lord willing, on judgment day.

So mote it be.

Such true and heartfelt feelings of the current times couldn't have been expressed better than by the words wrote in this poem. I'm sure there are many people in this world that share the same feelings of frustration, exasperation and exhaustion. This poem clearly describes the present day struggle to survive and the feelings of the people's bleak outlook of their future and the truth of who we're all accountable to on judgment day.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
