The Moon Watcher

The Moon Watcher

she watches the moon
from both ends
guiding it gently up from the sea
she applauds its early evening showing

she sleeps slowly as the moon
watching its face between dreams
reading messages in the shadows
laughing at lunar secrets

she awakens with the moon
watches it whisper away
behind the curtain of dawn
remembering its sure smile

she watches the moon
from both ends
a believer in its song
a keeper of its light

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
