    The Stars

     The Stars..

Before tv or radio, long before trucks and cars,

God took some time to place all the stars.

Some are for wishing -- others are for dreams,

there’s one for babies and elders and all the in betweens.

There’s one that twinkles down at me, shines so very bright,

made me want to sit and watch it all through the night.

Then there was another, it’s light was somewhat dim,

it was like a call from a long lost friend.

It twinkled a bit, just to let me know it was there,

just like a note from the past, just a reminder that someone cares.

Then there were clusters of stars – all joined together,

just like friends, hanging tough through all kinds of weather.

How blessed we are, to be able to see wonders such as this,

to see the stars placed perfectly, not a single one amiss.

Just think, before computers or emails, long before cars,

our Father took time to specially place the stars.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
