    To Mommy's Child: A Prayer

    To understand the little kicks-
    the little flutters-
    knowing you're being put together in the secrecy, warmth and safety of my womb-
    being handmade by God, Our Lord, knowing that He loves you-
    Knowing that He cares.
    Before you were made-
    He Knew You-
    knitted you together-
    tiny hands and feet-
    one day will be running-
    climbing and playing-
    learning and growing.
    A tear I shed-
    knowing I cannot protect you from every moment of trouble that comes your way,
    but in my prayers you'll stay-
    knowing that God will always send his angels watching you.
    My Dear Child, right now-
    Know that you are safe-
    Know I pray-
    Know enough that God loves you to give mommy faith that everything will be okay.
    I'm not perfect, mistakes will be made-
    but know in God's arms-
    you will safely be covered by His wings;
    Be raised Mommy's child- in His grace-
    In His love-
    In His strength-
    You're the apple of His eyes;
    The picture of His heart-
    To Him you belong and never depart.
    Rest now, Sweet Child of Mine-
    as the days of your birth grow near in wondrous ways-
    Know In His Love you will be raised...
    Amen...

    I found this poem very moving. Whenever anyone asks me why God put us here my response is always, "to care for the children"
