true friend

I have a friend you see,
who never raised their voice to me.
They have never lied,
or laughed at me
They have never told me to change,
or complained I am a pain.
You see my friend as always been there for me.
They needed me as much as I needed them.
They listened to me complain of my bossy boss,
of the guy who cut me off.
They would always be found waiting at my house.
Oh, how they would cheer me up when I felt blue.
They kept secrets better than anyone I knew
You see this friend of mine had four fuzzy feet.
Greeted me with a wet nose in bed,
until that unfateful day when someone took them away.
If only they had seen my pain.
If only they had stopped,
I would not hurt so much.
It hurt more to think no one would care about this friend,
or the pain they had caused from the lose
of a truely good friend
.

great work it is a good poem and i understand your hurt i have one of them friends also he never complains

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
