    Unrested

    The night
    unfolds the
    inner loneliness
    laying
    in a space suspended
    within your own
    nothing
    and no-one
    no-what
    no-where
    where is my sleep
    escaping me
    it's oozing out
    my ears and
    running
    down my sheets
    looking
    for a head to
    happen in
    cause
    it just ain't
    happening
    in mine...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
