What Can I do
You are old and I am young
You were 52 when I was born.
I have thought of myself as
Daddy's little girl, even when
I wasn't so little and got bigger
than you. You wouldn't let me
forget that either. I have loved
you over the years and have
taken your insults, insults that
would have made me stop
dealing with a perfect stranger.
I don't know what I can do to
make you love me. I guess
I will neverbe that skinny,
successful and
beautiful daughter you want me
to be. You certainly aren't
much to look at, but you are
my father and your opinion is
what matters most.
