What I Know (acrostic)
What would you do if we called you fake? What if all your actions were displayed?
Will you walk around, a smile on your face,
When everyone knows that you are fake?
How do you manage to live this way?
How do you make it through each day?
Hate for your fake self destroys each day,
Help is coming, it's fast on the way.
All these people want to mold me to society,
Act like them for the sake of propriety.
And I don't take my decisions so lightly.
All the 'cool' kids are copying society.
This is me, I'm real, not going anywhere.
Think twice before you try to make me care
That you don't like the way I do my hair.
There's more to this world than your vanity fair.
I'm all real, all the time, you can't make me stop.
I'm not gonna conform to you, trying to reach the top.
Inside my heart I find the truth, it made me really stop,
I thought about all the things we do, trying to reach the top.
Kids try to imitate the models and the stars,
Kings and queens that drive fast cars.
Knowing they won't be as 'kewl' as you are.
Kids take this trend of imitation way to far.
Now around me fake people point and stare,
Now I can't seem to find the energy to care.
Nothing else matters to me anymore,
No one but you can bring my mind back here.
Oh my, you can't keep up the perfection act!
On the magazine racks we see what you lack.
Oh, looks like you can't face the facts–
Only God should shape the way we act.
Why don't we ever act like we should?
Why didn't the people do what they could?
When everyone finally fits your perfect mold,
Will you be proud of what you've done to our world?
