Why I Was Born
There are times I remember,
That are welded in my mind.
When everything went my way,
And life seemed fair and kind.
When you are living a dream,
Everything is black and white.
Because you know you're good,
You have no reason to fright.
What if all you ever thought,
Turned out to be all wrong?
When good turns to disillusion,
Would you still have a song?
I hear them quite often,
Speaking on my disgrace.
They say I praise His name,
While He spits in my face.
Too many times I've set there,
Just holding on to my head.
Other times I've broken down,
Just wishing I was dead.
I don't have the answers,
For the questions in my soul.
Perhaps there are a lot of things,
I may never get to know.
But one thing I am certain,
Is the vision that He gave.
I know that I will get there,
Before I enter the grave.
So I just turn a deaf ear,
To all the critics and fools.
They may get to gloat now,
But I'm the one with the tools.
So all this in between stuff,
Is simply a nagging thorn.
Yes it becomes annoying,
But I know why I was born.
That are welded in my mind.
When everything went my way,
And life seemed fair and kind.
When you are living a dream,
Everything is black and white.
Because you know you're good,
You have no reason to fright.
What if all you ever thought,
Turned out to be all wrong?
When good turns to disillusion,
Would you still have a song?
I hear them quite often,
Speaking on my disgrace.
They say I praise His name,
While He spits in my face.
Too many times I've set there,
Just holding on to my head.
Other times I've broken down,
Just wishing I was dead.
