    Wishing for a Change

    Grey, black, white
    Uneasiness, cold
never knowing when it will stop
    A dark place
    bitter harsh winds blow
something strange lurking in the day
    my thoughts wander
    to the beaches
    warm, bright, happy
opposite of what is besetting me
wishing if only I could visit
the sea foam, sand, and sun
    on my feet, face, legs
A a dream of a warmth that does not seep into my soul
the true picture before my eyes
chills the deepest part of me
I want to get away from it

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
