Would You Like to Be My Friend?
When I look into your eyes,
I can tell your soul has been touched,
And that you’ve seen more than sometimes you wished you would have.
I can see that you’ve loved,
That you’ve been hurt,
And that you care about what’s right.
When I see the words you convey,
I can feel the person behind them
Warm heart, so close and yet so far away.
Like you, I’ve been touched at the core of my soul.
I’ve seen much in life that I sometimes wish that I hadn’t.
I’ve loved and been hurt but I care about what’s right.
I don’t know what this is,
I don’t know where this might lead,
But there is something I’d really like to know,
Would you like to be my friend?
I can tell your soul has been touched,
And that you’ve seen more than sometimes you wished you would have.
I can see that you’ve loved,
That you’ve been hurt,
And that you care about what’s right.
When I see the words you convey,
I can feel the person behind them
Warm heart, so close and yet so far away.
Like you, I’ve been touched at the core of my soul.
I’ve seen much in life that I sometimes wish that I hadn’t.
I’ve loved and been hurt but I care about what’s right.
I don’t know what this is,
I don’t know where this might lead,
But there is something I’d really like to know,
Would you like to be my friend?
