    A Mother's Love

I am a mother filled with love
I wonder if they know we come from above
I hear people talk because their kids are bad
I see all the hate which is very sad

I pretend to be things that I’m not
I feel that people will put my child on the spot
I touch on my child’s heart as much as I can
I don’t worry because with that he will be a man

I hope he understands the nine months of pain
Or the dangerous walks through the snow or rain
I say things to him hoping he understands
I went through the suffering, not the man
I dream of him living comfortable and nice
I will make sure he is good though, for that would suffice
It’s not my fault I sound stern or mean
It’s just that I’ve seen more than you’ve seen
As mothers we love with heavenly love
The only way a mother could ever love

I'm a mother so I do understand the sentiment. Is it what you feel about someone's mother or yours?

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
