    Understanding

    Many people don’t understand
What they have in a true woman or man
We are there to help you get through
Because that is what we do
We can lift you up when you’re down
We can always reverse that silly frown
All you have to see is simply this
When we are gone, you will truly miss

Where do I get my joy from
    When everything hurts so bad
Where do I get my smile from
Where people around me make me sad
But when I look into those eyes of yours
It sends my pressure to a soar
The only thing I have that is true
Is the one I have known as you

You may not think what I may think
You may not feel what I feel
But what I’m trying to say to you
Is that there is no one that can do what you do
You see a light shines and brightens a room
But when you appear, all I hear is a boom
Because the power that you contain
Can erase all of the pain

I have put all that I have
Into what I thought was oh so grand
    I saw a beauty I couldn’t resist
Thought I found my eternal bliss
But my heart you simply did break apart
With me not seeing it from the start
But now I’m here to let you know
My love for you, I have let go

Where do I get my joy from
    When everything hurts so bad
Where do I get my smile from
When people around me make me sad
But when I look into those eyes of yours
It sends my pressure to a soar
There is one more thing that’s true
    I no longer love you

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
