A Psalm of Jesus

A Psalm of Jesus

It is my desire to be set aside.
Set aside to serve Jesus in His glorious work.
I want to be counted in His next seventy.
I wish to be one of the unnamed disciples.
To get down on my knees, and cry “Holy”.
For the Lord truly is holy.
Oh, to walk with the Savior.
To hear His words, and to know.

It is my desire to be forever justified.
To walk in sanctification.
Like Jesus, I have nowhere to lay my head.
My spirit is homeless, as yet wandering the world.
Silver and gold, I have none;
But such as I have, I give.
In order to take-hold, I must let go.
Step from the boat and take my hand from it.

Now is the time for my rebirth.
For I have been in the womb of renewal.
For God hath laid out my new life,
Even before I was born of flesh.
It was then that I made a covenant with Him.
I chose then to walk in the path of the Son.
I would bear pain, suffering and disease.
Atonement for some wrong of which I have no knowledge.

So I count myself an unnamed disciple.
Like my Savior who walked before me,
I cultivate a supreme love.
I practice denial of self.
And I count all things as loss,
For excellency in the knowledge of Christ.
My sufficiency is by the grace of God.
So Jesus, my Lord, please come. Come and walk with me.

I can feel your love for Christ ... very good!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
