    • I have recently had my book "Brain Etchings" poetry from a cynical old geezer published. It is available on blurb.com or you can contact me here.

    A Wrenched Heart

    A fire burned deep inside
but then you left and something died
my heart's been wrenched a time or two
it questions me about missing you
Life whirls past but time stands still
grasp at memories of you so real
    This choice cuts deeper everyday
Why did I ever let you go away?
    The answer lies months ahead
but until then my love is dead

We as adults can relate to the pain of a lost love as you have expressed here. It hurts like hell when it is gone and often hurts like hell when it stays. http://alejabennett.net84.net

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
