“Future Foretold”

“Future Foretold”

I’m worried about what is to come

And of how things have been

Of all that’s happened in the past

But where do I begin

The calls that go unanswered

With text that go unread

Not caring what they had to say

Or cause of me instead

My faith I feel depleting

Twisted entwined inside

Wish all was clear but lost in dark

There is no need to hide

Thoughts that keep replaying

Confused and unclean

Depicting my destructions

In all that is me

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
