BLINDED PATH

Tides of pressure cover her weak body
With swells of her personal defeat
Crushing any aspiration she once possessed
Society and conformity leading her path
Into the depths of pre-determined destiny
Whether the pawn is forced or willing
Bitterly she lowers herself
In a grave much deeper than six
Numbness dulls the collapse of her lungs
Beneath the piles of text
But lately she's been thinking
That if only she could stop the bleeding
She might be better off than she thought
Killing her dreams and accepting defeat
Could do a world for warfare
Her verses the hierarchy of measuring success

The puppetmaster hides himself well. Even some following think they are leading. A poem with deep perception. Those expressing the deepest truths always seem to be supressed with the heaviest burdens. Mysterious. [Society and conformity leading her path Into the depths of pre-determined destiny] - Perfectly stated. Leaving the will to either water itself down or be utterly alone. [Whether the pawn is forced or willing] - perfectly stated again. Either way it is still a pawn. Beautifully expressed.

An ambition driven world will have its victims, those born to try. And then comes defeat; it's an outsider's view though, what we see; how, we think, the sufferer must feel. And 'grave much deeper than six' where the living are buried: very graphic. The tone very authoritarian as well, suits the crushing reality every 2nd and 3rd position getter and those further behind must face. no sympathy, no soft words there.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
