Poem Commentary

Too many bad memories to get up in the morning...

NIGHTLY THOUGHTS

I'm trying to make sense of this madness in my head
but when you have nothing to lose,
the idea of gaining ground is laughable.

Night after night I lie in my bed sorting through memories
that do more harm than good;
no sleep ever comes to one who cannot rest.

Still it continues, my hell of a life continues.

Maybe in another life I could have been happy,
somewhere along the line I had to have taken
a wrong turn that has led me here.

I feel like I have no one.
Have you ever felt like there was not one person
in the world that you could truly rely on?
Not one single soul that would care as much
about your well-being as you would,
so selflessly, care for them?

I have, and I do now. Everyone has left me here.

I would hope that if they only knew what kind of danger
I was in, they would do anything in their power
to save me from myself.

But that's not how living is; you are on your own.

You've expressed it perfectly, Less... these are feeling that I think everyone can relate to at some point in their lives, and you've done a beautiful job putting them into poetic form. 10 from me :)

some poeople are not willing to help us when we need it the most, we live in a world where we are stuck to fend for ourselves. Good write I feel the emotional pains describe, the struggle to find the truth .

Subtle and deadly. A poem exposing the truth that there is a difference between -being around people- and -being around people that care-. Perhaps the world thinks us superheroes, able to -will- everything away. The one weakness I hate coming to accept is that we do need others, yet they have to -want- to care. Which most don't. Ah this write is superb in its ventage. [Have you ever felt like there was not one person in the world that you could truly rely on?] - Damn this shit struck me deep in the eye. And simply being around people doesn't fix it. A ghost among the living is still a ghost. They have to want to feel your death. Beautifully expressed.

thank you! I can tell you really are in tune with the deeper and abyssmal emotions that I was feeling when I tried to scribe my pain on whatever was there......great analysis and very humbling :)

it does not initially read like poetry, but a composition, yet it is poetry. It's painfully analytic. It's almost all of us, who at one time or another, dared to look within. And yes it is about depression, and loss of hope, alienation, being alone. Yet we know we are not the lone-sufferer, even though we suffer alone.

Most of my "poetry" is just composition that is cropped and and edited to fit in with what would be a traditional poem structure. My writing ususally goes on for pages and pages, but I can only use a few "well worded" paragraphs. This particular "poem" in its full length is probably 3 college rulled notebook pages long.... so haha yep you got me with the composition.... also I appreciate your comments very much, I hope to return the favor and I hope that you enjoyed my poems that you have read!! All The Best and Thanks Again, Julie Layne
