Children of the Stars

Children of the Stars

The image of a mother breast-feeding her baby daughter or son,
Cherishing her infant with motherly love,
And nourishing from her own body the babe that she bore--
Fathered by her compainion in love and life--
Is of all visions I have ever seen, the most sacred one.
This is what we are really here for--
To express and give love and life, which fell to us from the stars above;
And for life to shield life from the myriad harms,
With loving arms.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is what we humans are: magic-minded mammalian marvels, that feed life to our young,
From milk distilled from mother's love: from life to life.
Infants drink life from life; and, lying safely on mother's chest, they hear the heart-beats
That once rounded and comforted them in the womb, with life's rhythmic sound.
In distant eons past, we humans may have first been dust raised from the ground;
And the terrible curse, "Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return,"
Clings round the root of life, and climbs up to corrupt its flower;
Yet we, within our magnificent magical living hour,
Prove beneath the stars the worth of our life, and love's great power.
We prove that the fate of our living day should not be to dacay away,
Turning through death's unheeded time into abject dust, or pitiful ashes in an urn.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Despite blood-stained history, and the long lists of deeds of inhumane cruelty,
Yet, the nobility and grandeur of compassionate, caring, kind deeds by so many of us,
And star-shaming sacrifice freely done by death-shadowed human love's concern,
And the myriad daily deeds of concerned sympathy, great and small,
All show that humanity deserve to find fulfilled glad life eternally,
In spite of the evil that rings every life at last and ruins it all.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Our kindness and sacrificie cries to the skies to grant us a kind surprise from above.
Not only mercy, but justice cries for supreme power to raise us up forever, far from the primal fall.
So many words and actions of compassionate care are there, no one could name them all.
So many humans show ourselves worthy of life, to care about, and love, and help each other.
Nothing more proves our worth to live forever on this earth than mother's love.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Though mortality is the grim fate each golden life finally meets,
We feel in our hearts that we should live forever.
Love of life, in our life-breathing souls, in our spirit-filled flesh,
Cries to the stars for an everlasting life's light--
Infinitely bright--
Eternally to shine, with living delight; and to burn forever with human love, in the depths of the night.
God bless her, wherever she may be--my dearly loved, my own loving mother.

I've come back a few times today to read this. It is so comforting, and full of bursts of love. For without love, what do we have?? Love makes a scared heart brave. ;) Super Angel

Your mother, I believe will be with our Father in heaven, along with all the other angels in our lives. The love you have in your heart shall live forever being passed down from one heart to another. Your love shall "shine" forever in our hearts......Love

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
