    Snow and Life

The day that I was given my great fear,
By being told what no one wants to hear,
I saw outside the window snowflakes falling fast,
In whirling flurries of bright white,
Falling like magic from the great sky.
Seeing such magic, who could fear to die?
Such magic makes mortality seem like a false bad dream.
    I watched the snowflakes fall—I, I, I !
    I’m here, I’m now, I’m real—yet—
    What if I only seem?
Can something seem so real, and yet not be real?
    I cannot know.
I only know I saw such beautiful snow,
And that it fell the day my great fear was given me.
I saw the snow fall, saw it frost the world.
The trees and cars and everything had white garments on.
My fear is still here, but now the snow is gone.

This is a tattoo in my mind and saved to my faves, thanks for posting, and this here is a quote I found, and I have it on my bio, Are you a snow flake, or are we snow??? A snowflake is one of God's most fragile creations, but look what they can do when they stick together! ~Author Unknown THANKS ws

The snow has not gone. It has just taken another form as everything eventually must. Nothing is wasted, and nothing is discarded. The snow, our bodies, our consciousness; they just take new forms.

Thank you for your clear caring concern. I HOPE for good new life after this life is over, but I do not know. I know about the law of the conservation of energy and mass. Mass and energy continue and sometimes interchange. I know that if I drop and shatter one of my old vinyl records, the mass is conserved. But where is the music that I loved so much to hear? I'm not sure what will happen to my consciousness. I know the H20 of that snow has to be somewhere, in some form: But the snow that beautified the world and gleamed into my eyes while I was waiting for that doctor, is not there for me anymore..

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
