Song of Life (Original Version)

I do not wake the way I used to wake,
With sunshine stretching far;
And all fulfilling time for me to take.
I wake up in the middle of the night;
And gripped by night,
I look, and love the light of every star.
Time is not a band wrapped around my wrist;
Time is not a paper hanging on my wall.
Time is what I have for too long missed.
But now I want to hold and feel and taste it all.
"Take no thought for the morrow," said Jesus.
Yea, verily, verily, verily, verily.
Why should I?  All I have for sure is now, today.
The present is bright; but it is a fading gleam.
My memory sings, with sweet sad wisdom to say:
A fragment from a childhood song, warning me--
Making me feel myself fade in eternity:
"Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily;
Life is but a dream."

All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages.

Wow, this is beautiful. Love the last line too, that was cute. We're all going to go someday, so whether you know or not when that time is, we should all live life in the moment cuz no one is promised tomorrow. I've learned something from you. Thank u. :)

Wow...... the beauty of your expression is priceless -- much like the passion when Christ extended our fate. Stay positive and hopeful! Know that nothing on earth is permanent, ALL things are temporary; regardelss of financial, relationship, spiritual, emotional, and even health status. But the important thing to remember is that we're all here for a reason -- a reason beyond ourselves! You have a testimony that others must hear! By doing for others, those things will be done for us..........keep love in your heart in all you say and do. This too shall come to pass. It is all up to you how though... Life is but preparation for our dream to come -- entering the gates of heaven and hearing "Enter, thy good and faithful servant". All any of us have is today...for no man knows the day or the hour that He'll return. Your words have healing power. Don't you know that? Not only to heal others, but also for yourself. Know that by His stripes you ARE healed (in the name of Jesus!) and speak against that cancer in your body. Try to live as though it doesn't exist -- that's your faith in action (faith without works it dead). Make the very most of every moment. Do not allow the enemy to convince you to just "take it easy"..... You are loved and respected; and you'd be surprised who is inspired by your life........ Please take the time to read a few of the works on my page: Gift Of Life, R.E.P.E.N.T., Matrimourning, H.O.P.E., and Untitled (it starts with "The life that we've lived thus far was given"). May God speak to you through the messages, and that you will receive His healing.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
