  • is in a fairly crappy mood. Too many bums. Doesn't that tell you something?

Poem Commentary

Daddy left for the war.
Daughter and Wife expect him to come home after.
Naive.
For a letter comes home.
Dead.
Rage.
Sadness.

Cry Me To Sleep

Bundle me up in your arms.
Lay me down in my bed.
Kiss my forehead.
then run to your bedroom.
Pull out a letter.
I know what it is.
'It's for the better.'
That a little girl my age,
Can understand the anger and the rage.
Of a war out of hand.
And Daddy just had to go.
To leave my life forever.
No matter how much I begged.
I needed him there.
He went a good man.
Shot by a gun.
Lost in the smoke.
Proud of his country,
Proud of his family.
We cry.
