Dance With The Dark

Dance With The Dark

None but I seem to hear it,
it's one thing that's only for me.
Sorrowful strains of violins fit,
and I wear like a glove minor G.

Notes like the wind sadly blow,
while saxophones moan their lament
The piano's vibrations are low,
as the score to my life finds its bent.

From deep inside of my heart
flow these haunting and sad melodies.
they complement my dance with the dark,
each song composed in all minor keys.

Head filling up with the sound,
on a lonely and starless night.
Dressed in a velvet, crimson red gown,
cold arms of darkness holding me tight.

Like notes in the wind I spin,
trapped in this unholy romance.
Dark holding tighter, my breath grows thin,
though I'm sickened inside, still I dance.

Very nicely done! Layers upon levels of simile that also have a musical rhythm. Thank you for sharing!

This is an excellent poem. It struck me as somwwhat different although I can't seem to decide why that is so.

Reading this gave me chills. Absolutely love it!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
