Dangerous Words
"Dangerous words,"and she shakes her head.
I try to catch her arm
but my limbs are unresponsive.
I finally broke down,
told her the truth
but she didn't want to hear it.
"Don't be a fool."
So I close my mouth
and try to think
of less dangerous things to say.
