    Dead Trees

Flying away to leave the old dead tree behind
The tree that was felled by ignorance
Hoping that at my return it would be gone
Not framed in eternal memory with green grass and flowers

There lie many dead tree trunks nowadays
Cut down from many people on their way to heaven
how far is it for them ? –
I guess a long long road – of never ending barren lands

Like cut off limps from a once healthy body
As long the spirit is second the material suffers too

Even birds prefer trees with leaves and blossoms.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
