Does It?
Does it eat at you?
The knowledge that you lost?
You thought I would falter,
You thought I would fail,
Patiently waiting to smugly watch my downfall.
Does it burn your insides?
The fact that I've won?
You thought I'd cave in,
You thought I'd end the game,
Arrogantly waiting for me to go over the edge.
Does it make your blood boil?
The idea of me writhing in his arms?
You thought there could be no other but you,
You thought I'd suffer alone and lost,
Foolishly thinking I could get no better than you.
Does it enrage you?
Understanding that you have failed?
I am stronger than you are,
I am better than you will ever be or deserve,
Peacefully acknowledging all of your weakness.
Does it bother you?
That feeling in your gut?
The one telling you I've forgotten you,
The one telling you I've moved on,
Whispering in your ear that I don't love you anymore.
The knowledge that you lost?
You thought I would falter,
You thought I would fail,
Patiently waiting to smugly watch my downfall.
Does it burn your insides?
The fact that I've won?
You thought I'd cave in,
You thought I'd end the game,
Arrogantly waiting for me to go over the edge.
Does it make your blood boil?
The idea of me writhing in his arms?
You thought there could be no other but you,
You thought I'd suffer alone and lost,
Foolishly thinking I could get no better than you.
Does it enrage you?
Understanding that you have failed?
I am stronger than you are,
I am better than you will ever be or deserve,
Peacefully acknowledging all of your weakness.
Does it bother you?
That feeling in your gut?
The one telling you I've forgotten you,
The one telling you I've moved on,
Whispering in your ear that I don't love you anymore.
