    Poem Commentary

My mom's health hasn't been good and she wanted me to write the poem that is goin to be read at her funeral. Thank god she is still with us today, but as time goes away... her health goes down....

Don't Cry For Me, I'm Home

Let the tears fall from the pain
of me going away. But don't cry
for long. I'm still here. I never
went away. I'm only in a deep
    sleep that lasts forever. When
you miss me and want to cry,
think of all the good times we
    shared together. When your
down and feel like no one is
around you, just look up and
I will be there. It may not be
my body standing in front of
you, but look deeper and you
will see me. I'm the flowers
that you can't help but go
smell. The wind that you have
to walk in even when you
don't want to. I'm the rain that
you dance in. I'm the sun that
    shines down and brights your
day. I'm the eagle that you
see flying freely in the air.
But don't cry when you see
    these things. Remember I'm
in a deep sleep, free of pain,
and I'm home. In your heart
I will always be. I'll always
be in the things you see. But
please don't stand at my grave
a weep. Cause I'm not there,
    I'm home sweet home.

I saw a pattern of uniqueness in this poem it kind of made me weap at the same time why is it that ending have to be so horrible, I'm glad you were able to change that statement thru this poem.

Thank you... that really means a lot to me.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
