Poem Commentary

This poem I wrote Bout the country music group One Flew South. They all have been there for me and my family. I am very honored to be able to get to know these guys and be able to call them my friends.

Sitting in the back of the room,

Waiting for something good to

Come along and make my night

Better. Then from somewhere

Across the room I hear the sound

Of guitars. As I slowly go find this

Amazing sound, a smile suddenly

Appears upon my face. Sitting

Before me, are three guys, playing

Their hearts out. Then out comes

Their sweet harmonies.  As I slowly

Turn to go sit back down, I softly

Say thank you. Not only did my

Night get better, but for bringing

Back the greatest guys that God

Has ever made.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
