    Doubts

    I can read your thoughts
    See it in your eyes
It is written all over you
the feelings you have for me
    Is not hiddden in you
    At times the looks in
    the eyes decieves
    Can I trust your gentility?
    You presnt yourself
    Like a harmless creature
    Promising to be tender-hearted
    How long wil it last?
    You thrill me and
    Makes me feel funny
Your words echoes in my heart
Making a new song for me
    but my head warns
    Be alert and don't relax!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
