    Flashes of Oceans

    Flashes of Oceans

I had a flash and realized
all the gray haze is melting away
    fading in the sunlight

    Been thinking all these things
    none of them matter
    but I think them anyway
flashes of clear thoughts late at night
but when I wake in the light of day
    all my thoughts have changed

    Said hello to her
hadn't seen her in a long time
    the distance between us
was like an ocean between our eyes

    People grow apart sometimes
but she'll always warm my heart
    Seay

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
