FRIENDSHIP MY BOND OF LOVE
Friendship how strong a bond of loveLove that exists between the identical heart
Some very closer than a brother.
Bringing meaning and kindness to the heart.
The heart that is knited with trust
Who can discern the length of a true friend?
I sought them far and saw them
The tall, the short, the bold and ambitious.
The ones I lost my heart grieve
I brought them close and embraced them
When my heart is merriest
I found them six feet off ground.
There they died with part of me.
Friend after friend departs
Who has not lost a friend?
Friends and good manners will carry you
Where money won't go.
Friends are God's apology for a broken relation.
He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare.
A virtuous friend who can find?
I have known the cat and then dog
I have known them to be sworn enemies
I have known the cockroach and the hen
Well enough to know their bitterness
Can the cackroach attend the feast of the hen?
Can the dog dance in the market square with the cat?
Yet of all acquintances, found me not an enemy in them.
The wicked can have only accomplices
The voluptuous have companion in debaunchery
Self seekers have associates
The politic assemble the factions
The typical idler has connections
Princes have courtiers
Only the virtuous have friends.
