    Poem Commentary

Nothing in particular, just a write of my own. First in weeks.

Gently now, she came to me

    Ending of the lifelessness
    Beginning of our peril
    There was one
    And now there's another

    Such confusing emotions
    Darkness in its prime
The light yet to be seen
    Filled up your empty heart

    Slash and burn
    Clash and scorn
    Memories can be forgotten
But not both sides always do

    It becomes selective
    Forgetting the things
    You never liked
    You never wanted

    Evil one
    I've forgotten you
But this was about someone else
So your dark reign has ended

Up and and down and all around
This pain shall meander 'round my heart
Criss cross, a throw and a toss
    Lost forever in the gloom

I like the use of metaphores and word play in this poem, it bounces around but still keeps and air of darkness. Intriguing.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
