God Bless Our Men And Women

Poem Commentary

This poem was wrote April 5, 2003

I dedicate this poem to my mother and father, Sarah & Tommie Ross, Sr., who were lifetime members of the VFW and to my nephew, Jeramiah Lee James, who  fought in Iraq and to all of our heroes who fight for our freedom.

God Bless Our Men And Women

I know not all their given names

But I am glad they fight for me

I hold my head up high and proud

Each time I see them in a crowd.

I pray for them wherever they are

They hold a special place in my heart

I'd gladly give them the shirt off my back

Because I know they would do the same for me.

God bless them all for what they do

They fight for Freedom

And the Red, White and Blue

They fight for a safe place for me and you.

Love your insight, Our Men and Women should be honored in this society.. Soldiers Sacrifice all. Thanks for the poem.

Yes they should and it is a shame that they don't get more that what they get. God bless them all and their families.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
