He Only Takes The Best (Memorial Poetry)

God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he placed his arms around you;
Then whispered, "Come to me".

With tearful eyes we watched you;
we cried as we watched you pass away.
Though truly we will miss you,
we cannot make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating;
Hard working hands
Were then laid to rest

God sometimes breaks the hearts
Of those who cherish another
To show, he only takes the best.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
