Poem Commentary

This is a poetic impression of what perhaps those who have painful moments of fear and shame. Don't be judgemental toward them...they just might be crying out the very words that were the image of this poem (written in the 3rd person)

OH MOMMY, OH DADDY...(IF YOU COULD ONLY SEE)

Why did I;
turn you off?
When you were hoping
It would just seep in
I wouldn't have to fall....

Why did I?
tune it out...
When I would later
have to learn
the harder way...
To fail and to doubt...

Oh mommy, Oh daddy
Ive fallen in to the false aroma
Of a very painful scene.
Oh mommy, oh mommy...
Heres your lost little one
Just not what you want to see

Oh mommy, Oh Daddy
I fallen to in aimless world
My soul's new disease...

Oh mommy Oh daddy
You shouldn't feel proud
Of what I've come to be

Oh mommy Oh daddy
Its so hard to hide from you
If you could only see...

Where have I been?
Its starts with the things
You always feared
They've taken over me

What do I feel?
I have fallen deep inside
Hiding as you plead

Oh mommy, Oh daddy...
I'm lost in my own cage
Not what i used to be...
Oh mommy oh daddy...
I've patched over so much
I'm ripped at the seams!

Oh mommy Oh daddy....
The pictures of that little one
Aren't what youre gonna see....

Oh mommy, oh daddy
The sun has now gone away
The frigid cold has iced over streams..

Oh mommy oh daddy,
My 'shamed and
sorry heart lights'a
small candle tonight
so Be not angry......

Oh mommy, oh daddy...
I'm lost inside the world's
lonlinest cage, and somehow lost the key!

If you could just forgive
I could know not the fear and shame
And run form all these things....

Its time I ran so far away,
and make a better me
Oh mommy, oh daddy....
Its cold out here tonight
I'm scared and lonley
Oh mommy oh daddy...
Help me start for just tonight
To leave it all
To leave everything

(musical fade)

A pensive reflective spiral into the hungry mouth of despair, taking with it all necessary prisoners such as guilt, shame and censure___There is not much that can render me helpless__You have here with such poetic justice, to causal effect and remorse

Keep writing your sentiment are heartfelt. I couldn't agree more with WordSlinger poetry saves lives, 'it heals' and more. Peace, Light and Love

communications between parent and child are sometimes lost to the mists of time. This well written reaches out grabbing the reader, top stuff.

This is very touching, it makes me sad, but also it makes me wonder, I see that Poetry is your life line, stay with it, Poetry saves lives, it heals, keep your head up, ty WS

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
